Service policy summary

This administrative console page displays an operational summary of all the service policies in your environment. Use this page to determine the relative performance of your service policies to the defined service policy goals.

To view this administrative console page, click Runtime operations > Service policies.

Service policy summary chart

The chart shows the average response time for the service policies being used.

Be default, the maximum number of data sets that are displayed is 5.
Note: If application load does not exist in the WebSphere® cell, then the summary chart is empty. This behavior is expected. To see data in the chart, start to run load on your applications.

Service policy table

A list of the service policies data is displayed.

Maximum rows
Specifies the maximum number of rows to display in the table. Rows that exceed the maximum number display on subsequent pages.
Retain filter criteria
Specifies if you want to retain the last filter criteria that is entered in the filter function. If you enable this option, when you return to the page, the retained filter criteria controls the service policy collection that is displayed in the table.

Name

Specifies the name of the service policy. To edit the service policy configuration settings, click the service policy name.

Cell

Specifies the name of the cell.

Importance

Indicates a level of importance. The importance value is unavailable when the goal type is discretionary.

Service policies can have one of the following importance levels:
  • Highest
  • Very High
  • High
  • Medium
  • Low
  • Very Low
  • Lowest

Goal

Specifies the type of business goal that is defined for the service policy.

Average response time
Goals carry a specific time goal.
Percentile response time
Goals are the percentage of requests handled in a specific period of time.
Discretionary
Goals do not contain a specific time value and consist of lesser priority work that can be scheduled by the on demand router based on the existing workload in the queue.
Completion time
Specifies the maximum amount of time in minutes that is acceptable for a job to complete and still maintain the level of service that the service policy implies.

Stability

The stability indicates the operational status of the service policy.

Icon Action Description
Stable Stable The service policy is operational, without issues.
Questionable Questionable The service policy has some problems, but is still operational.
Unstable Unstable The service policy has severe issues.
Unknown Unknown The service policy stability cannot be reported.
