Middleware server detail settings

Use this page to view the configuration for middleware servers.

To view this administrative console page, click Servers > All servers > middleware_server, or select Servers > Server types > middleware_server_type > middleware_server.

Name

Specifies a name for the server. The name for a server must be unique on the node.

The name field cannot contain the following characters: # \ / , : ; " * ? < > | = + & % ' . The name that is defined must be unique among servers and cannot begin with a period (.) or a space. A space does not generate an error, but leading and trailing spaces are automatically deleted.

Node name

Specifies the node name that is affiliated with the server. A node name usually is identical to the host name for the computer. However, you choose the node name. You can make the node name some name other than the host name.

HTTP connector

Specifies the server specific properties, including the port number and enablement.

Depending on the server type, other fields might display. For example, PHP servers have fields for PHP. HTTP and HTTPS connectors are not displayed for all server types.

HTTPS connector

Specifies the server specific properties, including port number, enablement, and security.

HTTP and HTTPS connectors are not displayed for all server types.

Server configuration

Specifies additional properties for WebSphere Application Server Community Edition servers.

Application repository
Specifies the location of the application repository that is used by the WebSphere Application Server Community Edition server. You can specify variables in this path, such as ${GERONIMO_HOME} to indicate the first part of the path to the installation. To create new variables and modify existing variables, click Environment > WebSphere variables.
Server configuration folder
Specifies the folder that contains the configuration files for the server. You can specify variables in this path, such as ${GERONIMO_HOME} to indicate the first part of the path to the installation. To create new variables and modify existing variables, click Environment > WebSphere variables.
WebSphere Application Server Community Edition version
Specifies the version of WebSphere Application Server Community Edition that is running on the server. Specify the version number with the point value, such as 2.0.
Port offset
To avoid port conflicts, specify a port offset. The port offset is used for stacked WebSphere Application Community Edition servers and increments the port value. For example, for the default server instance, the port values might be8085 for HTTP and 8443 for HTTPS. If you specify a port offset of 5, when a new server is created, the HTTP port value is 8090 and the HTTPS port value is 8448 for the new server. If a third server is created, then the port values are 8095 for HTTP and 8453 for HTTPS.
JMX security is enabled
Specifies if Java Management Extensions (JMX) security is enabled on a WebSphere Application Server Community Edition Version 2.1 or later server.
