Middleware server operations settings

Use this page to configure operations for middleware servers. You can use server operations to run executable files on your middleware servers from the administrative console.

To view this administrative console page, click Servers > All servers > middleware_server > Server operations > server_operation, or select Servers > Server types > middleware_server_type > middleware_server > Server operations > server_operation.

Name

Specifies the name of the server.

Executable

Name of the executable file.

Executable arguments

References variable names and values as executable arguments.

Each executable must be on its own line. When the node agent is invoking the operation, the value is inserted for the variable.

Name of a variable for referencing a user name in executable arguments

Specifies a variable for referencing a user name.

The user name to be substituted for the user name variable at invocation time

Specifies a user name to be stored as an encrypted user name in the configuration that can be, along with the encrypted password, referenced as an executable argument on the operation.

Name of a variable for referencing a password in executable arguments

Specifies a variable for referencing a password.

The password to be substituted for the password variable at invocation time

Specifies a password to be stored as an encrypted password in the configuration that can be, along with the encrypted user name, referenced as an executable argument on the operation.

Working directory

Identifies the working directory for the server operation.

Supported OS

Specifies the operating systems that are associated with the server operation.

Name of an environment variable that stores a PID file name

Specifies the environment variable that stores the PID file name.

The PID file name is stored in a WebSphere variable. The PID file name specifies the location of the PID file where the server operation runs.
